What it is

A 'full-body ultrasonic computational tomography' scanner: you stand on a platform that lowers you through a ring of roughly half a million grain-of-sand ultrasonic transducers in a shallow water pool while AI reconstructs a 3D map of your internal anatomy — no radiation, no magnets, no contrast. Built on Butterfly Network's ultrasound-on-chip (40 modules per machine). The pitch: a few-dollar scan you could repeat monthly.

The evidence

Announced 17 June 2026; Butterfly Network confirmed the partnership (up to ~$74M over five years). heavy caveats and we stage it as an unvalidated prototype: it is a Gen-1 device, only about a dozen people have been scanned, the real scan currently takes ~20 minutes (not the marketed 60 seconds), it is not FDA-cleared (starting as 'body-composition maps', below the diagnostic-imaging tier), and there is zero independent clinical validation — every image-quality claim comes from Midjourney's own demonstrations. Possibly years from clinical use, if it gets there at all.

What you can do today

Not available for this use, and years away if it arrives at all. Anything sold today with this claim is not backed by human evidence for it.
